Keita Tachibana (橘 慶太 Tachibana Keita?) (born on 16th December, 1985) is a Japanese musician. He is the vocal singer of the pop boy band w-inds. He has a lot of talent. His voice is on 5 octave vocal range.

Career

Keita came to national attention as the only male finalist in the 2000 Kyushu-Okinawa Starlight Audition. After that experience he joined forces with two dancers from Sapporo, Ryuichi Ogata and Ryohei Chiba, to form w-inds. In addition to his singing and dancing talents, Keita plays piano, guitar and bass guitar.

Tachibana now has a solo career as well as being in a band. His debut single "Michishirube" was released on 18 October 2006. Although he is a solo artist now, he mentioned that w-inds. is a big part of him and will not be disbanding.

His debut solo single, "Michishirube," debuted at #3 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. His solo album made it to the #5 on the first week on Oricon Weekly Albums Chart; it is also the first ending theme to the anime Reborn!.

His second solo single, "Friend", features the first OP of the anime adaption, Blue Dragon.

Keita's blog was awarded "Blog of the Year 2006" by Cyber Agent.[1]

In 2007 Tachibana voiced Prince Arthur (Artie) in the Japanese dubbed version of Shrek the Third.

In 2009 Keita starred in his first drama Ohitorisama with Koike Teppei .

Personal life

In his spare time, he enjoys playing pool and soccer.

Tachibana has an older brother, Yuta, and two younger sisters, Mai and Mio; Mio is currently a model and was part of the group Soran Happies.

Tachibana is also close friends with Hero Jaejoong of TVXQ.[2]
